Throughout World War II, Eric Lomax (Irvine) is a British officer who is caught by the Japanese and sent to a POW camp, where he is compelled to chip away at the Thai-Burma Railway north of the Peninsula of Malaysia. Throughout his time in the camp, Lomax is tormented by the Kempetai fundamentally for building a radio.
